Stories in Space: Suspended Paper Scenography Workshop
In Stories in Space, participants explored paper as a scenographic and narrative medium by creating suspended compositions with string, India ink and handmade paper.
The resulting works were conceived both as personal decorative objects and as scenographic elements for performances, installations and other artistic projects.
Throughout the two sessions, participants experimented with line, movement, composition and the relationship between paper, light and space. They explored how a lightweight material can acquire narrative, kinetic and atmospheric presence.
Each participant completed at least two different paper compositions, depending on the selected scale, paper size and complexity of the construction.
Japanese books featuring patterns and illustrations from the Triton & Shell – Paper Art Hub archive were available as an additional source of inspiration.
Materials
All materials and necessary equipment were provided and included in the participation fee.
