About Triton & Shell
Partners & Network
Since its establishment, Triton & Shell has been developing a network of people and organisations connected with the history, making, study, preservation, and contemporary artistic use of paper and the book.
This network includes artists, papermakers, bookbinders, conservators, researchers, collectors, universities, libraries, museums, archives, specialised workshops, and cultural organisations. These relationships take different forms: through exhibitions and educational activities, research collaborations, invitations to artists and specialists, donations to the Historical Archive, and longer-term exchanges of technical and research knowledge.
Of particular importance to Triton & Shell are direct relationships with people and workshops that keep historic techniques alive. Personal engagement with craftspeople and artists, the study of their practices, and the opportunity to share this knowledge through exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and research activities are central to the way we understand and develop our network.
These relationships also contribute to the continuing development of the collection and Historical Archive. Books, archives, artworks, samples, tools, and workshop equipment acquired through donations and collaborations preserve not only their material presence, but also the histories of the people, workshops, and practices with which they are connected.
This section presents selected artists, researchers, workshops, and organisations with whom Triton & Shell has developed meaningful relationships through research, exhibitions, education, and the development of its collection.
