About Triton & Shell
Triton & Shell – Paper Art Hub is a non-profit cultural and research organisation dedicated to paper and the book as materials of history, knowledge and artistic creation. It opened its doors in 2025 in Dafni, Athens. Triton & Shell has a specialist focus on handmade paper, its history and contemporary applications, in constant dialogue with bookbinding and the book arts.
Its work develops around five interconnected fields: Collection, Research, Exhibitions, Education and Studios.
At Triton & Shell, we collect, study and present the global history of handmade and industrial paper, bookbinding and related arts. Through exhibitions, educational activities and studio practice, we also explore the place of paper in contemporary artistic creation.
Our aim is to preserve, document and promote the cultural value of paper and the book, while creating a meeting place for exchange among people working in art, research, conservation and education.
At Triton & Shell, we do not simply tell the history of paper — we keep it alive.
